PROJECT (Periodic Refocusing of J Evolution by Coherence Transfer)

Summary:
PROJECT allows for the measurement of T2 weighted spectra without J-modulation. This is achieved by using a 90° refocusing pulse in-between a double spin echo. This suppresses J modulation by exchanging coherence between spins so that modulation caused in the first part of the double spin echo is refocused in the second half.

Pulse sequence:
The pulse sequence uses a “perfect echo” where a 90° pulse is inserted inbetween a double spin echo to refocus J-modulation. The counter n is increased attenuation of the signals present in a spectrum.
