New Methods in Parahydrogen Hyperpolarised Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
Biography
I completed my undergraduate studies at The University of Manchester, graduating in Summer 2019 with a First Class MChem with Honours in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. My MChem dissertation concerned the Validation of Innovative Immunotherapies for Cancer Treatment, supervised by Dr Katie Finegan and Dr Roger Whitehead.
Previously, in 2018 I undertook an university funded internship within the Manchester Electrochemistry Research Group working on the development of novel membranes for nitrate detection and removal.
Alongside my undegraduate studies, I worked part-time as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Blood Sciences department at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, as well as volunteering as an online mentor for The Brightside Trust, encouraging disadvantaged young adults into higher education.
In September 2019 I began my graduate studies with the Manchester NMR Methodology Group, developing new methods in parahydrogen hyperpolarised nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, under the supervision of Dr Ralph Adams, Dr Louise Natrajan and Prof Mathias Nilsson. This is a new area of research for the group.
